How to build an office cleaning schedule
Space Cleaners team · 2 December 2025 · 6 min read
A straightforward way to set cleaning frequencies for desks, kitchens, washrooms and shared spaces.
Count use, not just floor area
A small busy office can require more frequent attention than a larger lightly used space. Consider staff numbers, visitors, hybrid working patterns and shared facilities.
Walk through the site at a normal busy time to identify bottlenecks and high-touch areas.
Divide tasks by frequency
Set daily tasks for bins, kitchens, washrooms and obvious floor soil. Add weekly detail work and periodic services such as carpet or internal window cleaning.
Clarify whether desks should be cleaned when papers or equipment are present and how confidential material is handled.
Measure and review
Use a written specification, named contact and simple issue-reporting process. Review missed tasks and recurring problems rather than relying only on occasional visual inspections.
Update the schedule when occupancy, layout or opening hours change.
